Your Stand-Up Journey Starts Here. Some part of you has always wondered if you could do this. You've got something funny in you. We'll help you turn it into five minutes of stand-up comedy in just six weeks. For the first 5 weeks, a professional stand-up comedian coaches you and a small group of classmates. One night a week, 2 hours a night. No long lectures, no sitting quietly in the back. You'll write, workshop, and riff together as a group, building your material from a blank page into a tight 5-minute set, finding your voice, sharpening your stage presence, and learning what it actually takes to get booked. Expect to laugh a lot and leave your comfort zone behind. Then comes Week 6: your Student Showcase. Your instructor's right there with you as you perform live, in front of a room packed with your own friends and family. Not one of our public shows. Just your night. Six weeks. One stage. One set that's all yours.

Comedian, Xander Beltran, seen on Hulu, PBS, KTVU, SFCC, SICC, headlines Alameda Brewing Company for one night only October 2nd!
Xander Beltran:
Originating from Oxnard, CA Xander Beltran loves burritos, days at the beach, and just kinda hanging out.
Making friends wherever he goes, Xander spends time in all sorts of scenes and hangouts and is able to portray these worlds vividly through insightful storytelling and observational comedy.
His laid-back delivery, character creation, impressions and animated act-outs make for incredible comedy.
He currently operates out of San Francisco and performs all over the country. He’s opened for D.L. Hughley, Paul Rodriguez, Eric Schwartz, Morgan Jay, Mary Lynn Raskub, Deon Cole, Jamie Kennedy, Erik Griffin, Zoltan Kaszas and Kel Mitchell.
He’s fresh off a semifinals run in the Seattle International Comedy Competition placing 7th out of 32 contestants chosen from hundreds of submissions from around the world. Xander won the 2018 Cobb’s Comedy Competition, was a Finalist at the 2019 House of Comedy’s Funniest Person contest and was also recently a semi-finalist in the prestigious SF International Comedy Competition. He’s been a featured performer at Big Pine Comedy Festival, Savage Henry Festival and Oakland Comedy Festival.
Xander has been seen on Like it or Not, Like It Or Not Late Night, PBS, Fox and his debut special with Tiny Pony on YouTube has amassed 47k+ views. He’s had multiple clips go viral and is quickly becoming one of the West Coast’s top rising comedians. Come for his beautiful hair and stay to see how long into his set he starts sweating.
